Shipping to the U.S.: Tariffs & More
Updated: 5th September 2025
We have now restarted shipments to the U.S. again, but we will be applying an additional 10% tariff charge to orders being sent to the U.S. This will be a manual additional charge that we will ask you to pay before we ship your order.
The reason for the additional charge is that as from 29th August 2025, orders that we deliver to customers in the U.S. will now incur an import charge that will need to be paid to U.S. customs during the parcel clearing process. What this means in practice is that we will now have to collect the tariff charge at the time that you place your order, and we will then have to pay this charge to U.S. customs as part of the delivery process.
Background to this Change
This additional charge relates to the U.S. governments change to their de minimis value. This was the threshold below which imported goods were not subject to duties, taxes, or extensive customs procedures, so long as they had a value of $800 or less. This threshold has now been removed for most commercial imports as from 29th August 2025, meaning virtually all commercial shipments are now subject to duties and taxes regardless of value.
The U.S. goverment has currently imposed a 10% import duty on products imported from the U.K. to the U.S., and so inline with this we are now obliged to add a 10% charge to the order to cover the duty. If you have any questions about any of this, please do be in contact with us and we'll do our best to help!
